Saying goodbye to summer
It always makes me sad that the time passes so quickly. I blinked and suddenly I have a third grader and a sixth grader! Where does the time go? It seems like the summer season always goes the fastest. We were SO BUSY there wasn’t much downtime. We started off the summer with a trip to Chicago. I brought the whole family along to the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry annual meeting and we all enjoyed seeing the city, while I was able to keep up with all the exciting newest things in pediatric dentistry. We then packed in baseball, golf, beach, and pool days. We enjoyed our vacation time on cape cod as a family and my husband and I enjoyed a quick getaway to Nantucket while the kids loved their time at sleepaway camp. We packed in plenty everyday and it was amazingly fun!
Now summer has ended, we are getting back into a more regular routine. We all survived the first week of school. Everyone is a little tired (especially my son as he has had to acclimate to a 7:00am bus pick-up to middle school). I think overall though, everyone is happy school is back in session. My daughter is loving her class, teacher and being back with all her friends. My son is loving the independence that middle school brings and getting to hang out with old friends and meeting some new ones.
Wishing everyone a great school year!
