When I opened Pediatric Dental Specialists of Needham in November, I was so excited to bring quality pediatric dental care in a boutique setting to Needham. My dream practice was finally here, and I never imagined less than 6 months after opening, we would be temporarily closing the doors. March 16th was a terrible day. After much thought, I made the decision that as a health care worker, my priority would be to “flatten the curve” and help keep the community I love and serve safe. We closed our doors to non-urgent patient visits and made the incredibly difficult decision to furlough our employees.
However, moving forward I have found some silver linings. I have been able to spend more time with my family. We have had more meals together in this last week than we have in the last year. We have enjoyed family walks with our dog everyday and game nights and movie nights. Here is a photo of a game we created using left-over holiday ribbon.
The other positive thing Pediatric Dental Specialists of Needham was able to do is donate some desperately needed personal protective equipment (PPE), including masks, which have been in short supply to the medical community. Our thoughts are with the medical community on the front lines of this battle.
For now, we wish everyone healthiness and we can not wait to see you and your smiles soon!
